Alright now. Gon' away to the teenager table if you're not ready to engage in critical conversation regarding the greatest thing in our pre-Black Mirror world: SOCIAL MEDIA.
One thing I think I we can all agree on is the greatest quote is , " With great power, comes great responsibility." is extremely accurate and should be taken seriously in many aspects of our lives, but social media forreal. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat can either be a blessing or a curse. I'm here to tell you how grown folk, capitalize off the blessings and leave the curses where the sun don't shine.
1.) Everything ain't gotta be on the inter webs.
There's a trend hitting the world wide webs that includes a strong desire to spew all your feelings all over social media, desperately waiting for someone to validate you. While it may feel fulfilling it probably is not your best bet when searching for solace. Anything on social media is up for grabs for unsolicited advice from Facebook professors or negativity, but can you really be mad? Social media is to be social, so just write in your journal to prevent any further disappointment.
2.) Don't tell us not to talk to you on social media.
This is actually one of my largest peeves, yet. People announcing their trips into isolation all over social media and then being outwardly upset when people want to check in with you. It is mildly problematic to use social media only to announce you no longer want to be social. A hard spin on the merry go round, y'all. A hard spin.
3.) Life goals don't have to be justified to be valid.
Don't feel compelled to post any and everything that you accomplish on the internet. Sometimes it feels really liberating to accomplish something and not have to wait for everyone else to celebrate first. At least try celebrating it on your own, first. You deserve the sanctity and time to reflect on your recent winnings.
4.) " She like to argue so I sent that b***h to law school."
We should all leave arguing on Facebook and ANY OTHER PLATFORM in 2017. Meaning we are LATE. If you're only on the social medias to argue with internet trolls, then you clearly need a new set of responsibilities during the day! You have too many things to do and accomplish that don't include talking about DJT and his latest twitter antics. Let it go. The end!
